Lim breaks two Idaho records

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Shana Lim broke two school records and a handful of Vandals came close on others - just as they were just a few ticks away from upending Oregon State only to fall in the final two events 111.5-93.5 in a non-conference meet.

Freshman Shana Lim became Idaho's first NCAA B cut qualifier with her 55.11 in the 100 backstroke. She doubled that win by setting a Vandal record in the 200 back.

"It was a great day in the pool," coach Tom Jager said. "They rebounded well from last weekend. It came down to the last two events."

Another freshman, Lindsay Williams, had a stellar meet as did junior Si Jia Pang. Williams won the 400 IM and Pang was the winner of the 100 free in addition to swimming the anchor leg of the Vandals' winning 400 medley relay.

"It was a competitive meet," Jager said. "We just came up short. ... I'm proud of my team. They swam great."
