MOSCOW, Idaho - Two Vandal divers, Maya Salvitti and Amelia Ward, have qualified for the NCAA Diving Zone E Championships. Salvitti qualified in all three events, 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform, while Ward earned qualification in the 1-meter. The pair will compete for a berth in the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.
Maya Salvitti has had a year to remember, capturing conference titles in the 3-meter dive with a score of 314.10 and platform with a score of 280.95, nearly resetting the school record in the latter. She also added a sixth-place finish in the 1-meter with a score of 253.05 at the MPSF Swimming and Diving Championships. Salvitti has also moved her name into the program record book this season, posting the third-best score in school history on the 1-meter (309.75) against Northern Colorado and the fourth-best mark on the 3-meter (327.15) against Northern Arizona, alongside her league-winning mark in the platform.
Joining her will be teammate Amelia Ward, who had a breakout season of her own. Ward recorded a top-10 finish on the 1-meter at the MPSF Swimming and Diving Championships with a score of 226.00. She also earned another top-10 finish on the 1-meter at the NW Collegiate Invitational, posting a final score of 478.80. Ward has been a consistent contributor for the Vandals this season, continuing to build momentum heading into the NCAA Diving Zone E Championships.
The NCAA Diving Zone E Championships will take place March 9–11 in Flagstaff, Arizona, where divers from across the region will compete for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.
