Cockerill won the season opening Match Play Championship in Manitoba and was runner up at the Nott Autocorp Men's Amateur Championship, following a five under par 67 in the final round.  He ran away from the field in the Men's Rural Championship winning by 17 strokes and concluded the season with a tie for 47th spot at the National Men's Amateur Championship.

To those accomplishments, he has a strong collegiate season with a seventh in the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate, a tie for ninth at the Dash Thomas Memorial, tie for 10th at the Palouse Collegiate, and was 11th at the Jim Colbert Invitational.
