Buckley to play in NFLPA game

Quayshawne Buckley, who was Idaho's third-leading tackler in 2014, has been invited to play in the  2015 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

A 6-3, 305-pound defensive tackle, Buckley ranked third on his team in total tackles with 72, an impressive feat for an interior defensive lineman. He tallied four sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss on the season.

With 1.4 tackles-for-loss per game, Buckley is tied for the 17th highest national average.

A native of Ontario, Calif., he will be one of the draft-eligible seniors competing in the all-star game on Jan. 17 at StubHub Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills at Carson, Calif.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT, and the game will be televised live on ESPN2. ESPNU also will air live broadcasts from practices on Wednesday, Jan. 14, and Thursday, Jan. 15.

For one week preceding the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, participants will receive an in-depth introduction to the union – the primary resource for information on the business of football and how to succeed in the NFL and in post-football careers.

Pro-football players and coaching legends will work with the game's future stars, giving them first-hand insight on what it takes to win on and off of the field. Mike Holmgren and Mike Martz will serve as the head coaches for the American and National Teams.
