Idaho senior punter/kicker
Austin Rehkow is the Sun Belt Conference leader in two statistical categories after week eight of the college football season and as the Vandals head into their first bye week.
Rehkow is No. 1 in total points with 72, which is 10
th nationally, and in field goals per game with 2.25, which is second nationally. He is second in the league and 11
th nationally in field goal percentage (.900), and second in the Sun Belt and 28
th nationally in points per game at 9.0.
Sophomore
Tony Lashley also has a top spot in the league statistics – fumble recoveries with two (ninth nationally).
Junior quarterback
Matt Linehan, who has thrown for 761 yards in the past two games, has moved into second in the conference and 29
th nationally in total passing yards with 1,883.
Senior
Jayshawn Jordan and sophomore
Kaden Elliss are tied for third in the league and 17
th nationally in total interceptions with three each as the Vandals are fourth in the conference and 20
th nationally in interceptions with nine through eight games. Jordan is sixth in the conference and 39
th nationally in solo tackles with 5.3 per game.
With a total of 15 takeaways, the Vandals are second in the Sun Belt and 16
th nationally in turnovers gained. They're also second in the league in fewest total penalties with 39 (32
nd nationally) and fewest penalties per game at 4.88 (22
nd nationally).
Between Rehkow's punting average of 43.5, hang time and punt return defense, the Vandals are fourth in the league and 28
th nationally in net punting. Rehkow's average is fourth in the conference and 28
th nationally. He remains the active career leader with a four-year average of 46.6 yards per punt.
