The University of Idaho Vandals take the wins against New Mexico State and Northern Colorado on Saturday.
"Today was a great day to be a Vandal," Coach Sowa said. "We faced two really well-coached and competitive teams so we knew we were going to have our hands full. It is great to come out of Colorado with two victories, one of which was against last year's WAC runner-up."
The 400 medley relay team of Allie Magrino, Clothilde Peseux, Emily Kliewer, and Aileen Pannecoucke started off the meet with a win over Northern Colorado and New Mexico State which helped get the momentum rolling throughout the rest of the meet.
The 50 freestyle was another strong event for the Vandals as Maryann Kok captured first place and Emily Kliewer picking up third place. Clothilde Peseux took the win in the 200 IM and picked up a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke. The meet concluded with a tight race against New Mexico State in the 400 freestyle relay where the Vandals picked up another second place finish.
"Like most teams this time of year, we are a little shorthanded with some sickness and injuries, so it was truly awesome how our girls picked each other up. We are excited to get back to Moscow, get back to work, and race in front of our home crowd this upcoming weekend."
