MISSOULA, Mont. – The Idaho track and field team heads into championship season after a strong showing at the Tom Gage Classic, hosted by Montana, on Friday.
“The Vandals competed hard today,” said director of track and field Tim Cawley. “They were aggressive and put themselves in good position to move up the conference list. I'm excited to watch the team at the Big Sky Conference Championships next week.”
Dustin Harrah had a great day in Montana. The freshman placed second overall in the high jump with a personal-best leap of 2.01 meters. He also took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 16.17 seconds.
Kara Story took second in the 1500-meters, using a late push to move up the field. She finished less than one second out of first with a personal-best time of 4:38.09.
Victoria Goetz placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.63 seconds.
Christopher Black earned fourth in the 800-meters at 1:57.69. Matt Sullivan tied for first in the pole vault with a leap of 4.85 meters.
