MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho (0-1) returns to the friendly confines of Guy Wicks Field on Sunday at 1 p.m. to take on Grand Canyon (0-1). Both teams will be hungrier than ever, looking to pick up the first win of the season.

PREVIEW – Idaho fell in its season opener on Friday afternoon at South Dakota, 1-0. Grand Canyon also went down on opening day, losing at Eastern Washington 1-0 in overtime.
MATCHUP – Idaho is 1-2-0 all-time against Grand Canyon. The last meeting came in 2014, with the Vandals falling on the road, 2-1. Idaho won the first meeting between the two programs, in 2013, 3-1.

HOME SWEET HOME – The Vandals finished 2015 with an unbeaten, 7-0-3 record at Guy Wicks Field, the first unbeaten home record in program history. Idaho won seven home contests, the second most in a single season in team history.
THE STREAK IS OVER – Idaho saw its 14-game unbeaten streak snapped on Friday afternoon at South Dakota, falling to the Coyotes 1-0. The Vandals conceded the lone goal in the 86
th minutes, marking the first time in over 1400 minutes that the Vandals trailed in a game. The streak ends as the second longest in Big Sky history.
RANKINGS – Idaho was picked by the Big Sky coaches to repeat in 2016, after receiving five first place votes and garnering 92 of a possible 100 points. The Vandals are also ranked 91
st in the nation in RPI.
