THE RECORDS
Idaho is 1-1 after defeating Montana State 20-17 in its opener before falling to No. 8 Washington last weekend at Seattle. The Cougars are 0-2 with a season-opening loss to Eastern Washington and a loss at Boise State last Saturday.
THE COACHES
PAUL PETRINO is in his fourth season at Idaho. While it is his first head coaching job, it is not Petrino's first stint at Idaho. His coaching career began at Carroll College (his alma mater, 1989). From Carroll, he went to Idaho where he coached running back, receivers and special teams from 1992-94. From Idaho it was on to Utah State (1995-97), Louisville (1998-99), Southern Mississippi (2000-02), Louisville (2003-06), Atlanta Falcons (2007), Arkansas (2008-09), Illinois (2010-11) and Arkansas (2012).
MIKE LEACH is in his fifth season as head coach at Washington State. He was the head coach at Texas Tech from 2000-09. He began his coaching career at Cal Poly (1987) before stops at College of the Desert (1988), the Pori Bears (Finland, 1989), Iowa Wesleyan (1989-91), Valdosta State (1992-96), Kentucky (1997-98) and Oklahoma (1999).
SATURDAY'S GAMEÂ Â Â
Saturday's game is the second of three road games in a row for the Vandals – even though the trip from the University of Idaho to Washington State University (eight miles) is the shortest between two teams in college football. Â
THE SERIES
This is the 92nd game between the Vandals and Cougars in a series that started when football was in its infancy. The teams played regularly when both were members of the Pacific Coast Conference but only occasionally since. They last played in 2013.

The game is on the Pac-12 Network with JB Long calling the play by play, Erik Coleman providing the analysis and Jill Savage reporting from the sidelines.
