The Vandals fell today against Mountain West opponent the Boise State Broncos. The final score was 164-128.
The meet started with the 3-meter diving competition where Janelle Lucas placed first with a score of 290.48 and teammate Maren Seljevold took second with a score of 280.77. The 1-meter competition was another Vandal victory with Nikki Imanaka getting first with a score of 279.52 and teammate Hailey Kessler placing third with a score of 272.32.
In the swimming competition, some highlights included Lauren Votava with a 2:22.08 in the 200 breaststroke and 2:11.97 in the 200 individual medley. Sophomore Emily Kliewer came in second in the 100 Butterfly by 1-100th of a second with a time of 57.49.
  "We competed well against a well-coached and talented team," Coach Mark Sowa said. "Coming off three good weeks of training, I thought our approach was good and we showed poise in most races. While not perfect in any sense, there were some good moments that we can build off of. Our divers were a great highlight winning both boards."
The Vandals are on the road this weekend competing against Oregon State on Saturday, January 21st in Corvallis, Oregon.
