RESULTS
OGDEN, Utah – It was another successful race day for Idaho cross country as the Vandals took on the conference at the Big Sky Championships on Saturday morning.
"I'm just really proud of this team, I thought they ran fantastic," said director of track and field/cross country
Tim Cawley. "Just a really proud day to have Idaho written across our chests. The men finishing fourth and the women in third for the highest finishes we've had in the Big Sky, it was fantastic. I just couldn't be more proud."

The Vandal women continue to improve, this year taking third overall on the 5k course with 95 points. Northern Arizona came out on top with 51 points, including three top-6 finishes.

Krista Story led the way for the Vandal women, taking seventh overall with a time of 17:44.2.Â
Kara Story was Idaho's next finisher in 11
th, finishing in 17:51.8.

Andrea Condie placed 17
th overall at 18:03.2, while
Maizy Brewer was close behind in 20
th with a time of 18:06.3.Â
Sierra Speiker rounded out the Idaho scorers in 40
th, completing the race in 18:31.4.

The men took fourth overall, matching last year's result.  Idaho did improve upon on its overall score from a year ago, cutting down from 164 points in 2016 to 123 points this year. Northern Arizona, the top-ranked team in the country, won the meet with 24 points.
Dwain Stucker was the top finisher for the men, taking down the 8k course in 25:04.7 to finish 18
th overall.Â
Drew Schultz and
Tim Delcourt took 22
nd and 23
rd, respectively, with times of 25:11.7 and 25:19.8.

Fabian Cardenas and William Godfrey took fourth and fifth for the Vandals. Cardenas finished with a time of 25:34.3 to take 28
th overall, while Godfrey finished in 25:52.1 for 34
th.
