MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball has added some height to next year's roster, with the signing of 7-footer Tomas Domingos.
"He's a great kid, on and off the court," said CSI head coach Jared Phay. "He's a great student, a very likeable guy. Moscow is going to love him."
Domingos currently plays for the College of Southern Idaho, a national power in the junior college rankings. He has appeared in one game so far in this young season, scoring two points and grabbing two boards. Domingos played last season at Elite Prep, alongside current Vandal
Garrett Kingman.
"He's a skilled 7-footer, and a legit 7-footer," Phay said. "He's very skilled, shoots it well and has good moves around the basket. He just needs to get stronger and he'll be really good. He's definitely going to help us this year."
Originally from Portugal, Domingos has a lot of international experience. He has competed with the Portugal youth teams since 2014, including the U20 Euro Championship B Tournament last summer.
"We really just saw his potential, especially with how well he shoots it," said Phay. "Big guys are hard to find anyway, let alone ones that are skilled. I knew he wasn't quite there, but he has a lot of potential."
