Ferenz Voted CoSIDA Academic All-District

MOSCOW, Idaho—Sophomore guard Mikayla Ferenz was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team on Thursday. The team is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Idaho is in District 7 with schools from Colo., Idaho, Kan., Mont., Neb., N.M., Okla., Texas and Wyo.

Ferenz, a mathematics major, holds a 4.0 GPA and leads the Vandals with 17.3 points per game this season. Ferenz scored a school record 41 points this season, ranking tied for 17th most in the NCAA. She tied a school record with nine 3-pointers, tied for third most in the nation. The Walla Wall, Wash., native has played in all 22 games this season. She has hit 61 3's this season, moving her into eighth all-time in program history. Her 41.4 career 3-point percentage currently is No. 1 all-time at Idaho.  

Ferenz leads the Vandals this season in field goal attempts, field goals made, made 3-pointers, free throw attempts and makes. Her 90.9 free throw percentage currently ranks sixth in the NCAA.

As a freshman she was voted the Big Sky Tournament MVP, helping the Vandals to its third NCAA Tournament in the last four season. She was a 2015-16 Big Sky All-Academic honoree.

The Academic All-District honorees advance to the Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
