Amy Hasenoehrl had her first career hole in one and is tied for third after the first two rounds of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Kaneohe Klipper as the Idaho Vandals are in fifth with one round to play.

Hasenoehrl, who had her ace on the 180-yard 12
th hole, had rounds of 72-69 for a three-under 141 – just three strokes off the 138 shot by leader Maddie Szeryk of Texas A&M. Also for the Vandals, sophomores
Sophie Hausmann (77-72) and
Michelle Kim (74-75) are at 149 and tied for 34
th, with freshmen
Clara Moyano (73-77) and
Danika Palm (74-76) tied for 41
st at 157. Freshman
Laura Gerner had a 157 to land in a tie for 73
rd and junior
Kendall Gray is tied for 80
th with a 158.

"We are very excited for Amy," coach
Lisa Johnson said.

The tournament is laden with ranked teams, which made the Vandals' opening rounds even more impressive.

"We had a solid day relative to the strength of the field," Johnson said. "We are in a good position heading into the final round. We believe we are a strong final-round team."

The Vandals are at 588, just one stroke behind No. 21 Texas and three back of No. 19 Oklahoma State. Sixteenth-ranked Texas A&M is the first day leader at 572 with Washington State at 576.
