@VandalsWBB Meets No. 4 EWU on Wednesday

RENO, Nev.--The Idaho women's basketball team continues its run in the Big Sky Tournament on Wednesday. The No. 5 Vandals face a quarterfinal matchup with No. 4 Eastern Washington at 2:35 p.m. PT.

About Idaho: A hot start and a strong finish helped push Idaho past Southern Utah, 83-68, in the opening round of the 2017 Big Sky Tournament. Idaho finished 52.0 percent from the field (26-for-50), getting four players in double figures.

About the Opponent: Eastern Washington earned a first round bye as the No. 4 seed in the Big Sky Tournament. The Eagles are led by junior Delaney Hodgins, a First Team All-Big Sky selection.

The Match-Up: Idaho and EWU split the regular season series. Idaho got the win in the last match-up, 78-51, in the Cowan Spectrum. Taylor Pierce totaled 23 points, hitting seven 3's in the contest. Idaho held a 30-point lead in the final two minutes.

Tourney Time: Idaho has won its last 10 conference tournament games all in the state of Nevada. Overall the Vandals are 11-1 in the last four years in Nevada. The lone loss coming to No. 20 Cal back in 2013.

Stripe Game: Idaho set a season-high with 19 free throws made in Monday's win over SUU. Idaho's 23 free throw attempts also set a season-high.

Blanked: Idaho held Southern Utah to 0-for-11 from 3-point range on in the regular season finale. It was the second time this season Idaho did not allow an opponent to hit from beyond the arc (LCSC). SUU attempted an opponent low eight 3's in the tournament match-up.

5x3: The Vandals had five players score in double figures against SUU for the first time since last year's Big Sky Semifinal against EWU. Idaho had four players score double figures five times this season.

Back-to-Back: Idaho will played Southern Utah in back-to-back games, the first time since 2007 that Idaho ended the regular season and faced the same opponent in the first game of the conference tournament (San Jose State, 3/3, 3/6/2007).

Splash Sisters: Mikayla Ferenz and Taylor Pierce are one of the youngest and most dynamic 3-point duos in the nation. The pair have combined for 321 career 3's in their sophomore year.
