MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is thrilled to announce the signing of Michael McCausland of Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon.
McCausland is a multi-time all-state athlete in cross country. He has been one of the top runners on three state championship teams while at Central Catholic, contributing to the legacy of one of the best programs in the Northwest and in the country. He placed 13th as a sophomore, ninth as a junior and fifth as a senior at the Oregon State Cross Country Championships in cross. His time as a senior at the Lane Community College course was 15:36 for 5000m.
McCausland also qualified for the state championships on the track last year as a junior in the 3000m placing 13
th. He has a personal best of 8:51.09 in the 3000m. Look for McCausland to expand on his stellar cross country season this spring on the track in his last season as a Ram.
McCausland is an incredible student and plans to study computer engineering at the University of Idaho.
