SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Competition in the decathlon at the 2017 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships completed on Thursday with Idaho's
Drew Thompson placing 14
th with 6115 points.
Thompson got out to a great start on Thursday, finishing fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.18 seconds. He then took 11
th in the discus at 32.53 meters (105-09), narrowly missing his season best.
He cleared 3.73 meters (12-2.75) in the pole vault, his best leap of the season, and threw 40.61 meters (133-03), also a season-best, in the javelin. Thompson closed out with a time of 5:28.13 in the 1500-meters, again setting a season-best.
