Big Sky Championships Wrap

Pair of Vandals earn individual titles

RESULTS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. –
The Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships were a success for Idaho Track and Field, with a pair of Vandals taking home individual titles on Saturday.
 
The men placed sixth overall with 77 points, while the women finished seventh with 49 points.
 
Kaizer Gillispie took home the individual title in the 400-meters, running the fastest time in the Big Sky this season at 46.52 seconds.  The time moves Gillispie into the top-30 in the West in the event this season and is the sixth fastest time in Idaho program history.
 
Mack Baxter also took home an individual title, winning the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.64 seconds.  Teammate Zion Stuffle took sixth in the event at 54.71 seconds.
 
Nathan Stark found his way back to the podium, taking third in the 1500-meters at 3:50.62.  Ben Doucette also picked up All-Big Sky Honorable Mention accolades, finishing third in the 110-meter hurdle finals with a personal-best time of 14.17 seconds.
 
Halie Raudenbush scored again for the Vandals, taking fifth in the 1500-meters with a time of 4:29.40, absolutely smashing her previous PR of 4:37.73 set about one month ago.  Krista Story also scored in the event, taking seventh at 4:30.80.  Raudenbush would score again later in the day, finishing seventh in the 5000-meters with a time of 17:05.46, a new personal-best.
 
Kolcie Bates earned fifth in the hammer throw with a personal-best throw of 55.73 meters (182-10).  Zachary Short also picked up a fifth-place finish, throwing 16.51 meters (54-2.00).  Dusan Jevtic placed seventh in the high jump at 1.99 meters (6-6.25).  Blake Gerling (1:52.39) and Ian Middleton (1:54.19) took sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 800-meters.  Austin Beyer threw a season-best 59.24 meters (194-4) to take sixth.
 
The triple jump was kind to the Vandals on both sides.  Karina Moreland took fifth on the women's side at 11.84 meters (38-10.25), while Faith Eruwa placed sixth at 11.77 meters (38-7.5), a season-best.  On the men's side, Kasin Pendergrass-Anderson took fifth at 14.63 meters (48-0.00) to equal his season-best, while Jonny Magee placed sixth at 14.31 meters (46-11.5).  Meghan Palesch took sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:01.93.  Kaleala Bass took eighth in the 800-meters at 2:13.54.
