@IdahoVolleyball to Host Eight Home Matches

MOSCOW, Idaho—Idaho volleyball head coach Debbie Buchanan announced the 2017 schedule on Monday. The Vandals will have eight matches at home in Memorial Gym.

The Vandals open the first week of the Big Sky season, Sept. 21, 23, at home against Montana State and Montana. Idaho will next be back home for a stretch of four matches, starting with Weber State on Oct. 12 and Eastern Washington on Oct. 14. They will close the home stand with Sacramento State on Oct. 19 and Portland State on Oct. 21.

Idaho's final home games come against Northern Colorado and the 2016 conference champions, North Dakota. The Silver and Gold will take on the Bears on Nov. 2, closing the home slate with the Fighting Hawks two days later on Nov. 4.

The Vandals are set for eight conference road matches, first heading to UND on Sept. 28. They will also visit UNC (Sept. 30), Southern Utah (Oct. 5), Northern Arizona (Oct. 7), Idaho State (Oct. 26), Eastern Washington (Oct. 28), Montana (Nov. 9) and Montana State (Nov. 11).

The team will participate in four non-conference tournaments before jumping into Big Sky play. The Vandals open the season on Aug. 25 with the first of three matches at the Oregon State Tournament. Idaho opens the tournament with the Beavers before a pair of matches against Kansas State and Pacific on Aug. 26. The next weekend, Sept. 1-2, Idaho is set to play two matches at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Idaho rounds out non-conference play at the Grand Canyon and Santa Clara tournaments. The Vandals will be in Phoenix, Sept. 8-9, for a trio of matches against Gonzaga, Fordham and Grand Canyon. The final tournament will be played Sept. 15-16 in Milpitas, Calif. Idaho will meet Santa Clara, San Jose State and Kansas.

The 2017 Big Sky Tournament is set for Nov. 16-19, hosted by the regular-season champion. Idaho earned the No. 8 seed last season, clinching its 12th consecutive postseason appearance.
