MOSCOW, Idaho- In an effort to minimize lines at the ticket windows and enhance the fan experience, Idaho Athletics is offering a discount to all fans who purchase tickets in advance for the opening football game. Tickets to the Aug. 31 game against Sacramento State will be 10 percent off, now through Aug. 30. Tickets can be purchased online (Promo Code: EARLYBIRD), in person at the Athletic Ticket Office on the east side of the Kibbie Dome or over the phone at 208-885-6466.
 
"We want our fans to fully enjoy Vandal game day," said Athletic Director Rob Spear. "We anticipate a large walk-up crowd for this game and the last thing we want is for people to miss out on the pregame festivities, or even kickoff, because they had to wait in line to get their ticket."
 
The discount is available on tickets in all sections. Fans who purchase tickets early can be picked up at the Athletic Ticket Office during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).The ticket office will be open on game day until 4 p.m., at which time the ticket booth on the west side of the Kibbie Dome will be open. Tickets purchased by Aug. 25 can also be delivered by mail.
 
The Vandals are coming off a nine-win season, including a victory over Colorado State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl to wrap up the campaign. All-conference quarterback Matt Linehan returns for his fourth year as the starter, while the defense brings back six starters.
 
Kickoff for the season opener is set for 6 p.m. PT, but pregame festivities begin at 3 p.m., with the Idaho Fan Zone at the grass field on the north side of the Kibbie Dome. The carnival-like atmosphere will include food vendors, children's activities, local musicians and a separate area for a student tailgate.
 
The first 12,000 fans in attendance Aug. 31, will receive a free t-shirt to help "White Out" the Dome.
