CHICAGO- University of Idaho senior defensive lineman Aikeem Coleman was named to the Ted Hendricks Award Preseason Watch List earlier this week, an honor bestowed on the country's top defensive end. Coleman is one of 34 student-athletes across the country named to the list, including one of four from outside the power five conferences.
 
Coleman was named the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year after leading the Vandals in sacks (eight) and tackles for loss (11). He ranked fourth in the Sun Belt and 47th nationally in sacks as a junior.
 
The Ted Hendricks Award winner will be announced Dec. 6, as voted on by a panel that includes national media members, head coaches, professional scouts and former winners. The award is named in honor of college football's first three-time first-team All-American.
