Fall Tennis Schedules Set

Both programs announced their fall tournaments

08/30/2017

MOSCOW, Idaho—The Idaho men's and women's tennis programs each announced its fall schedules on Wednesday. The teams will play in a handful of early season tournaments before opening the dual season in January.

The Vandal men will head down south for their first tournament of the fall. The team will be in Pocatello for the Idaho State Tournament, Sept. 29-Oct. 1. Idaho will then head over to the Dar Walters Boise State Fall Classic, Oct. 6-8. This year's ITA Regionals are set for Oct. 19-21 and will be hosted by BYU in Provo, Utah. The fall season concludes with the Bulldog Classic, Oct. 27-29, hosted by Gonzaga.

The Vandal women kickoff the fall season with Marianna Petrei representing the Big Sky at the Oracle/ITA Masters Tournament. This will mark Petrei's second season at the tournament, following her second consecutive undefeated season in the Big Sky.

The Oracle/ITA Masters Tournament format consists of a double elimination 32-player men's singles draw, a double elimination 32-player women's singles draw, and a single elimination 32-team mixed doubles draw. Each mixed doubles team will be comprised of the men's player and women's player from each conference, with wild card players paired together or with conference players who do not have a counterpart.

The women, as a team, will open the fall at the Bulldog Invitational, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, hosted by Gonzaga. Idaho is then scheduled for the ITA Regionals, Oct. 11-15, hosted by the University of Utah.

Both Idaho squads are coming off banner seasons in 2017. Idaho took home both the men's and women's championships last season. The women embarked on their fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The men made their return to the NCAA Tournament after narrowly missing out in 2016.
