Idaho volleyball heads to the Windy City this week, looking to secure its first win of the season. The Vandals will take on a pair of unfamiliar opponents, opening with DePaul before facing Illinois-Chicago.

Quotable: "We have to keep pushing forward. We have to keep growing and developing as a team. We think one of these teams [this weekend] is a little smaller and faster. One is a little bigger. We faced some big teams this last week. The bottom line is we need to stay consistent with our error, serving tough so we can create some opportunities to pick up our offense." – Head coach Debbie Buchanan.

At the helm: Head coach Debbie Buchanan returns for her 18th season. She is the longest tenured coach at Idaho, taking over the program in 2000.

Experienced: Idaho returns seven letterwinners from the 2016 season, including seniors Torrin Crawford and Klaree Hobart.

Preseason Poll: Idaho was picked to finish seventh in the conference by the Big Sky coaches

About DePaul: The Blue Demons played to a 0-3 result last week at the Indiana Invitational. Senior Caitlyn Coffey was voted All-Tournament, with 31 points in her three matches. Claire Anderson and Brittany Maxwell lead the team with 2.91 kills per set. ALL-TIME SERIES: 1-0; Last meeting, 1996.

About UIC: The Flames opened with a 2-1 record at the Hampton Inn Invitational at Bowling Green. UIC scored a 3-2 win over Bowling Green to open the season and added a 3-0 win over Duquesne to close the weekend. The Flames dropped their match against Xavier, 3-1. Kyisha Hunt leads the team with 3.17 kills per set. ALL-TIME SERIES: 0-1; Last meeting, 1988.
