Vandals Trounce Wolf Pack

Take down Nevada, 6-0

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho dominated play against an undermanned Nevada squad on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Wolf Pack (1-7-0) 6-0 in the Kibbie Dome.

"It was a very odd game, I feel bad for the University of Nevada with the situation that they're in, with so many injuries," said head coach Derek Pittman.  "At the end of the day we still have to go out and do what we do.  I think there were stretches at times where we did, but the game obviously presented some different problems and situations for us.  I'm happy to see so many players off the bench get some quality minutes and score some good goals.  We'll take it."

The Vandals had six different goal scorers on the day, including two freshmen scoring their first career goals.  Bridget Daley continued her excellent play from Friday night, scoring the game winner on Sunday in the 15th minute.  Daley was in the right place at the right time, pouncing on a ball out front.

Morgan Crosby got one for herself just three minutes later, while Olivia Baggerly added one from the penalty spot early in the second half.  Megan Goo got her first goal of the season in the 54th minute after a nice buildup from Crosby MacKinnon and Crosby.

Freshmen Hadley Sbrega and Kaysie Bruce each netted one in the second half as well.  Check the video linked at the top of the page for the highlights from today.

Nevada began the game with only nine players after sustaining a number of injuries earlier in the week.  The Wolf Pack didn't catch any breaks in Moscow either, with two additional players going down with injuries during the contest.

Big Sky play gets started next weekend, with Northern Arizona and Sacramento State coming to the Kibbie Dome.  Check back with GoVandals.com next week for more information on the games.
