MOSCOW, Idaho— University of Idaho men's golf head coach David Nuhn announced the addition of Ross Button to his staff as assistant coach. Button joins the Vandals after serving as the head coach at Moscow High School the past three years. Born and raised in Moscow, Button is a 2003 graduate of Moscow High School and went on to play golf collegiately.

"When I got the opportunity to bring someone in to help with the program Ross was an obvious choice," Nuhn said. "He is a great fit. We understand each other really well."

In addition to skill development, Button brings with him four years of professional caddy experience. His time on the bag will help Idaho's student-athletes on the course during competition, an area of focus for Nuhn.

"There is a distinct difference in the team's ability to perform when there are two coaches on the course," said Nuhn. "It was a really big deal to bring someone in who will be a tremendous asset during tournament play."

"I love coaching," Button said. "Joining the Vandals was a wonderful opportunity, and it allows me to learn from someone who is very experienced in David."

Button will also offer day-to-day assistance with operational tasks and organization of practices.

The Vandals kick off the 2017-18 season Monday and Tuesday, at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate hosted by Washington State at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash.
