OGDEN, Utah-Â The Big Sky Conference released its women's golf preseason coaches' poll Tuesday, unveiling the predicted order of finish. The Idaho women were picked to finish second. The Vandal women earned two first-place votes in the poll and checked in just behind defending-champion Sacramento State. The Hornets claimed the 2017 title in a playoff against the Vandals, keeping Idaho from back-to-back conference championships.

Idaho junior
Sophie Hausmann is rated as the Big Sky's top female golfer headed into the spring season, according to Golfstat. Hausmann won the Big Sky individual champion as a freshman in 2016 and finished runner-up last season. Fellow junior
Michelle Kim earned first-team all-conference honors each of her first two seasons.

Idaho opens the spring season Feb. 12, in Southern California. The women will compete at The Gold Rush in Long Beach, Calif. Hausmann took medalist honors at The Gold Rush last season, carding a 12-under.
