MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The final regular season meet of the year went well for Idaho cross country, with the men placing fifth and the women finishing eighth at the Bronco Invitational.
The men finished fifth overall on the 8k course with 184 points. The women placed eighth over 6k, with 233 points. Both teams were the top finishing Big Sky schools at the event.
Skylar Ovnicek led the way for the men, finishing 26
th overall with a time of 24:22.0.
Fabian Cardenas and
Dwain Stucker were not far behind, taking 36
th and 38
th, respectively. Cardenas completed the course in 24:34.6, while Stucker finished in 24:35.8.
Freshman
Ben Shaw was next across the line for Idaho, earning 44
th with a time of 24:40.6. Fellow freshman,
Michael McCausland rounded out the scorers with a 62
nd place finish in a time of 24.52.1.
The women were led by
Kara Story who placed 11
th. She finished the course in 20:38.8.
Andrea Condie was next across the line for the Vandals in 30
th with a time of 21:07.4.
Erin Hagen took third for Idaho, and 43
rd overall, at 21:21.2, while
Malaina Thacker placed 66
th with a time of 21:42.9.
Celie Mans fought through the pain to finish 106
th at 22:07.3 to close out the scorers for the Vandals.
Idaho will take the next weekend off in preparation for the 2018 Big Sky Cross Country Championships, in Sacramento.
