MOSCOW, Idaho – The home portion of the schedule has come and gone for Idaho soccer (8-6-2, 5-1-1) and the Vandals capped it off in style with a 2-0 win over top-ranked Weber State (8-4-4, 6-1-1) on Senior Day.
The Vandals struck early, taking the lead in the 13
th minute.
Makayla Presgrave came off her line to grab a clearance and go things going quickly the other way.
Bridget Daley did her part, sending in a well weighted ball for
Kayla Watanabe to run onto. Watanabe took a quick touch to evade the keeper, then sent a simple touch into the back of the net.
Taylor Brust added another for the Vandals early in the second half on a tremendous free kick.
Makayla Presgrave had another solid game in goal, making three saves for her seventh shutout of the season, including six at home. In seven home contests this year, the Vandals did not give up a goal during the run of play.
The Vandals are in control of their own destiny with two games to play. Two wins and Idaho will take the No. 1 seed in the Big Sky Tournament.
