OGDEN, Utah – Idaho senior Sophie Hausmann was named the Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. Hausmann shot 9-under at Boulder Creek Golf Club to finish fifth at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown (Oct. 21-23), leading the Vandals to a fifth-place team finish. It is Idaho's first weekly award of the season and the sixth of Hausmann's career.
 
Hausmann's 207 is tied for the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history. She carded 13 birdies and two eagles across three rounds, playing just six of the 54 holes over par. The Nottuln, Germany, native rocketed up the leaderboard on the final day with a 6-under 66, one shot off the single-round school record – which Hausmann has matched three times.
 
The Vandals fired a 7-under 857 as a team, the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history. Idaho finished under par as a team in all three rounds, also for the second time in school history.
 
Hausmann has finished in the top 25 each of her last 10 tournaments and 18 of her last 20. She has earned top-10 finishes in four of Idaho's five tournaments so far this season.
 
The Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown concluded Idaho's fall season. The Vandals will be back in action Feb. 25-26, at The Gold Rush, where Hausmann is the two-time defending champion.
