Game Recap: Volleyball |

@IdahoVolleyball Down Hornets

MOSCOW, Idaho—After being on the road for a month, the Idaho volleyball team (9-8, 3-2) hosted Big Sky conference opponent, Sacramento State (8-11, 3-2), on Thursday night in Memorial Gym. The Vandals captured the conference win, 3-1, by scores of 25-12, 21-25, 25-18 and 25-17.

After a strong showing in the first set, taking the game 25-21, Idaho couldn't find their footing in the second set falling to the Hornets. With the third set tied at 10-10, the Vandals would soon find success offensively and take the lead 19-15, forcing the Hornet to call a timeout. While Sacramento State would find the strength to rally back, Idaho proved to be resilient finding a way to claim victory. The match concluded with the Vandals taking the lead early in the set and never looking back. Idaho secured the fourth and final win, 25-17.

Idaho's Kaela Straw contributed 18 kills on the night followed by Sarah Sharp and Reece Carman throwing down 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Haylee Mathis collects 52 assists, just shy of her career high of 59.

Idaho continues Big Sky conference play this Saturday back at home in Memorial Gym to challenge Portland State University at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
