Travis Hansen Joins Men's Golf

2018 Frontier Conference MVP transfers to Idaho from LCSC

MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho men's golf signed Travis Hansen to a financial aid agreement, head coach David Nuhn announced. Hansen, a transfer from Lewis-Clark State College, will join the Vandals for the spring semester and is eligible to compete immediately as a sophomore.

The Clarkston, Wash., native was named the 2018-19 Frontier Conference Player of the Year. The Frontier Conference plays its regular season in the fall, with its conference championship taking place in the spring. The all-league honors were announced in October at the conclusion of the regular season. Hansen finished the fall with a 69.82 scoring average, No. 14 nationally at the NAIA level. He posted top-five finishes at all four events, including one victory.

"Travis will make an immediate impact on our program," Nuhn said. "I'm really looking forward to him vying to compete for us right away. If he plays up to his capability, I believe he will help us win a championship in April."

Hansen improved his scoring average by nearly five strokes from his freshman season, which concluded with a seventh-place finish at the Frontier Conference Championships.

A two-time Great Northern League MVP and four-time first-team all-conference selection at Clarkston High School, Hansen helped the Bantams to a runner-up finish at state as a freshman. He took home the individual title at the districts as a junior and senior. Hansen also lettered in basketball, joining current Vandal men's basketball student-athlete Trevon Allen on Clarkston's back-to-back state title teams as a sophomore and junior.
