MOSCOW, Idaho— Idaho senior guard
Mikayla Ferenz has been named the College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the website announced on Monday.
Ferenz opened Big Sky action collecting 29 points and six rebounds last week, in Idaho's commanding 86-72 win over in-state foe Idaho State Dec. 29th.
In 10 games, Ferenz has totaled nine double-figure games. She has already posted a total of 222 points thus far this season placing her in the top 50 nationally for final points. In last week's action against ISU, Ferenz shot 53.3 percent (8-for-15) from the field, 42.9 percent (3-for-7) from beyond the arc and 90.9 percent (10-for-11) from the charity stripe.
Idaho continues league play on Dec 31st against Weber State. Tip-off is slated for a 1 p.m. (PDT) start in Ogden, Utah.
