BOISE—Idaho women's tennis completed its weekend sweep, defeating in-state rival Boise State on Sunday. The Vandals came from behind to close out the day with a 4-1 win at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
Idaho (7-6) won all four singles matches to register the win. Junior
Maria Tavares got the Vandals going with her 6-4, 6-2 win over Anja Dokic on the No. 2 court. Junior
Marianna Petrei, ranked No. 44 in the country, picked up Idaho's second win. She took care of Wilhelmina Palmer, 6-2, 7-5, in action on the top court.
Freshman
Laura Spataro gave the Vandals a 3-1 advantage, taking care of business at the No. 4 position. The Vandals claimed the victory with a three-set win at No. 3. Senior
Lucia Badillos defeated Lilian Poling, 6-0, 6-7(4), 6-0, handing Idaho its third consecutive win.
Boise State opened with the day's first point. The Broncos recorded wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Maggie Chen and
Marta Magalhães picked up a win for the Vandals on the No. 3 court.
The Vandals return to action on Apr. 4, hosting Eastern Washington.
