MISSOULA, Mont.
– It was another successful day for Idaho track and field, with the squad split up at three meets.  A large group made their way to Missoula for the Al Manuel Northwest Invite.
 
Nik Chappee won a pair of events, the 200- and 400-meters.  His won the 200-meters in 22.34 seconds, and the 400-meters in 48.89 seconds, the eighth fastest time in the conference this year.
 
Quinn Mitchell also had a solid all-around day, finishing fifth in the hammer throw and sixth in the shot put.  His toss of 49.51 meters (162-5.00) in the hammer throw was a personal-best, while his throw of 14.15 meters (46-5.25) was a season-best.
 
Nicole Carter placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.87 seconds.  Kaylee Hove also took fourth, in the 400-meters, at 1:00.36.  Emily Wesseling picked up a third-place finish in the 1500-meters with a time of 4:58.03.
 
Idaho closed competition at two other meets on Saturday, the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
 
STANFORD, Calif. – Zachary Short placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 17.80 meters (58-4.75).  Short placed third in the discus on Friday with a personal-best throw of 50.97 meters (167-2.00), the third best throw in the Big Sky this year.  Andrea Condie was incredible on Friday in the 10,000-meters, running the fourth fastest time in program history at 34:48.08.
 
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Another set of Vandals competed at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
 
Makenna Behrens was able to take third in the javelin with a toss of 40.55 meters (133-0.00), her best throw of the year.  Austin Fred placed sixth overall in the mile with a time of 4:22.19.  Kaleala Bass finished ninth in the 800-meters at 2:12.27.   She followed that up with a 12th-place finish in the 400-meters at 59.26 seconds.
 
Rikki McCaw earned eighth in the 400-meters with a time of 49.90 seconds.  Hana Tyndall took ninth in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 15:09 seconds.  Hannah Ringel took fifth in the shot put at 12.08 meters (39-7.75).
