MOSCOW, Idaho- University of Idaho women's swimming and diving added to its long list of academic accolades this week. The Vandals were tabbed a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swim Coaches Association of America for the 2018 spring semester and two freshmen were added to the Academic All-WAC Team after concluding their first full year with exemplary marks.

Idaho's team grade-point average of 3.63 during the spring semester tied for the 14th-highest GPA nationally among Division I women's swimming and diving programs. The Vandals were also named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team in the fall semester.

Freshmen
Emma Schlyter and
Alexis Schmidt were named Academic All-WAC Tuesday, as the conference announced their spring sports honorees as well as freshmen and transfers who became eligible at the end of the school year. Schlyter and Schmidt join a league-leading 20 Vandals who were named to the Winter Academic All-WAC Team earlier in the spring.

Schlyter, an all-conference performer in two events last season, earned her way onto the All-Academic Team by recording a perfect 4.0 GPA during her first year on campus. Schmidt registered a 3.7 GPA over the last year.

Of the 22 Idaho women's swimming and diving student-athletes to earn Academic All-WAC recognition this year, 11 were also all-conference performers athletically.
