Idaho football held its second and final scrimmage of fall camp Saturday, the Vandals' last practice before classes begin Monday. Idaho focused much of its work on the red zone, mixing in some full-field drives and specific down-and-distance situations.
Cutrell Haywood was the leading receiver and caught five touchdowns.
Haywood had four touchdowns in the team's first scrimmage last week.
"When it's live bullets he scores touchdowns," head coach
Paul Petrino said of Haywood. "That's a good thing. Hopefully he'll continue to do that."
Haywood caught scores from both returning Vandal quarterbacks,
Mason Petrino and
Colton Richardson. Petrino and Richardson split reps Saturday, showcasing their differing strengths.
"I think they both had a really good day," Petrino said of the two quarterbacks. "The way I see it right now, I'm going to play them both early on and find a way to have both of them help us win. If one of them separates, then we'll go to that. There are different things they both can do to help us move the ball. So on down and distances I was rotating them in and out and actually think it helps them both play better."
