LAST TIME OUT: Idaho took a pair of losses on the road to open the season, at Nevada and Boise State. Despite falling behind early on Sunday, the Vandals stayed tough throughout against the Broncos. After conceding another goal in similar fashion to start the second, the Vandals put the pressure on and saw a substantial change.
Savannah Foster was the benefactor of that change, scoring her first collegiate goal on a corner kick midway through the half. The Vandals had their chances late to tie things up but couldn't find the back of the net.
MATCHUP: Idaho has never faced Grambling in soccer.
FIRST WIN TOUGH TO COME BY: Jeremy Clevenger is Idaho's fifth coach in program history, taking over the team in mid-July. Clevenger dropped his first two matches with the Vandals, both on the road.
Of Idaho's previous four head coaches, just one was able to win in his opener. Arby Busey won his first contest with the Vandals, defeating Boise State, 2-1, in Boise. Busey was also the only Vandal head coach to win his first meeting with the Broncos.
Of the other three head coaches, two won their second games with the Vandals, while one coach dropped his first nine contests with the silver and gold.
