IDAHO NOTES | TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
FULLERTON, Calif. – The non-conference portion of the Idaho volleyball schedule comes to a close this weekend, with the Vandals (5-4) traveling to California for the Fullerton Classic. Idaho will play twice on Friday, beginning with San Francisco (4-4) at 11 a.m. and followed by UC Riverside (4-5) at 5 p.m. Competition concludes against the host institution, Cal State Fullerton (6-4) at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

LAST WEEKEND: The Vandals ran into the toughest competition they have faced this year, at the Outrigger Volleyball Challenge in Hawaii. Idaho dropped the first match, against Hawaii, in four sets before bouncing back to take down San Diego State in four sets on day two. Idaho took on undefeated Portland in the final match, falling in three.

SHARP EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS:
Sarah Sharp earned all-tournament honors last weekend at the Outrigger Volleyball Challenge. On the weekend, Sharp averaged nearly 13 kills per match while hitting .333.

STATS: The Vandals rank at or near the top of the Big Sky Conference in a number of statistical categories. As a team, Idaho ranks first in hitting percentage. The Vandals rank 47
th in the nation in the category, hitting .254 on the year. Idaho ranks 40
th in the country and third in the Big Sky with 2.53 blocks per set. Individually,
Kaela Straw leads the Big Sky with 3.87 kills and 4.23 points per set.

ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO: San Francisco enters the weekend 4-4 on the year. The Dons haven't faced any common opponents with the Vandals, but did defeat Big Sky foe Southern Utah in four sets last weekend.

ABOUT UC RIVERSIDE: Riverside is 4-5 on the year and has dropped four straight. The Highlanders have faced four Big Sky schools already this year, defeating Montana and Idaho State but falling to Eastern Washington and Sacramento State.

ABOUT CAL STATE FULLERTON: Fullerton is 6-4 on the year, but struggled last weekend at the Rebel Challenge. Idaho and Fullerton have no common opponents so far this year either, but the Titans did defeat Big Sky opponent Montana in straight sets on opening weekend.
