COLFAX, Wash. – Idaho cross country was back at it on Friday night, competing at the Cougar Classic hosted by Washington State at the Colfax Golf Club. The women took third overall, while the men placed fourth, as the teams competed on the future site of the 2019 NCAA Cross Country West Regional.

The women posted a score of 53, trailing Portland State (34) and Washington State (44) and defeating Gonzaga, Pepperdine and Eastern Washington. The men finished with a score of 100 to finish behind Gonzaga (21), Pepperdine (78) and Washington State (78).

Andrea Condie led the way for the women, finishing third overall with a time of 21:02.Â
Kara Story finished fifth, completing the 6k course in 21:20.

Malaina Thacker and
Faith Dilmore took 12
th and 13
th, respectively. Both posted times of 22:02.Â
Maizy Brewer placed 20
th overall to round out Idaho's scorers. She finished with a time of 22:19. Freshman
Nathalia Campos was close behind in 21
st at 22:23.

The men were led by
Fabian Cardenas in 14
th. He completed the 8k course in 24:49.Â
Skylar Ovnicek was right there with Cardenas, taking 15
th at 24:53.

Michael McCausland was the next Vandal to score, as he placed 19
th with a time of 25:08.Â
Dwain Stucker earned 31
st at 25:33, and
Drew Schultz rounded out the scorers in 46
th with a time of 26:08.
