Idaho men's golf tees off the 2018-19 season Monday, at the Ram Masters Invitational hosted by Colorado State. The two-day, three-round tournament will be played at the Fort Collins Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo. The first of two rounds Monday is set to begin with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. MT. Tee times will be determined for Tuesday's final round, also beginning at 8 a.m. MT, going off the front and back.
THE LINEUP: Idaho's season-opening lineup will feature
Enrique Marin,
Klaus Ganter,
Colt Sherrell,
Sean Langham and
Cole Chrisman. Sherrell and Langham will both be making their Vandal debuts.
THE COURSE: Fort Collins Country Club will play as a par 70 at 7,218 yards. Originally opened in 1959, the course plays host to numerous USGA qualifying events.
THE FIELD: Idaho is joined in the 17-team field by host Colorado State as well as Cal State Fullerton, Denver, Illinois State, Long Beach State, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Omaha, Rice, Sam Houston State, Seattle, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Washington State, Wichita State and Wyoming, plus individuals from Colorado. Five participating teams advanced to the NCAA Regionals last season.
RETURNING TO THE RAM MASTERS: Idaho participated in last season's Ram Masters Invitational, taking 19th as a team.
Enrique Marin led the Vandals in each round, to finish tied for 23rd at 4-over for the tournament.
MARIN BACK FOR MORE: Senior
Enrique Marin was Idaho's most consistent competitor last season, on his way to earning All-Big Sky First Team honors. Marin posted the Vandals' lowest score in 28 of 33 rounds played in 2017-18 and recorded seven top-25 finishes. He was named Big Sky Golfer of the Week four times to tie for the league lead.
