GREELEY, Colo. – Big Sky play continues on Thursday night for Idaho volleyball (7-6, 1-0) with a trip to Greeley to take on Northern Colorado (4-5, 0-0) at 6 p.m.

LAST MATCH: The Vandals swept the Eagles of Eastern Washington on Tuesday night to open Big Sky play. The Idaho defense was strong all night, finishing with 11 blocks while holding the EWU attack to hitting just .070. The Vandals attack did its job as well, posting its third best hitting percentage of the season (.330) and recording the most kills in a three set match this year (49).
STRONG START: The Vandals have a history of starting the conference season strong. Since rejoining the Big Sky in 2014, the Vandals have opened the conference portion of the schedule with a win. Last season, Idaho opened the season with back-to-back sweeps, against Montana State and Montana.
CARMAN EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS:
Reece Carman earned an all-tournament nod after her performance at the Fullerton Classic last weekend. She averaged 12 kills per match, while hitting .245. Carman also averaged four blocks per match.
BIG SKY EXPECTATIONS: The Vandals were picked by the conference's coaches to win the Big Sky, taking nine first place votes in the annual poll.
MATCHUP: Northern Colorado is 4-5 on the season after having its non-conference finale canceled last weekend. Idaho and Northern Colorado have not faced a common opponent so far this year. Idaho is 4-5 all-time against Northern Colorado. The Vandals swept the Bears in both meetings last season.
