MOSCOW, Idaho—
After delivering a 102-99 semifinals loss to the Vikings in last season's Big Sky Tournament, Idaho women's hoops prepare to welcome Portland State Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. slate at the Cowan Spectrum. FASTBREAK
  • The Vandals leveled Sacramento State Thursday, 104-66, to improve in the league standings with a 5-2 record, keeping Idaho steady at No. 4.
  • Idaho tied a program record, for the third time, with 18 three-pointers made in the victory. Taylor Pierce leads the nation with 4.13 three-pointer made per game overall, while also leading the conference with 5.6 made per game. Mikayla Ferenz ranks 16th in the country with 3.25 and fourth in the league with 3.0.
  • Five different players totaled double-figures for the Vandals, while everyone that played contributed to the scorer's column.
  • The Splash Sisters, Pierce and Ferenz, rank 1 and 2 in the Big Sky as they are averaging 23.4 and 22.9 points per game in conference action, respectively.
  • It's also a team effort when it comes to the top-offensive team in the conference as the Vandals averages 76.5 points per game in all 16.
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
  • Sitting at No. 1 in the conference after winning six straight games going into to Saturday, the Vikings are the only team with a loss under their belt.
  • Both teams were selected to finish first and second in the Big Sky, with Idaho as the favorite, during the preseason.
