MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is thrilled to announce the signing of Tim Stevens of Cove High School in Cove, Ore. Stevens is a six-time Oregon State Champion in cross country and track & field and finished the 2018 cross country season ranked in the top 100 athletes in the United States by Dyestat.com.
Stevens is a two-time State Champion in cross country. He won as a sophomore, was second at the state meet as a junior, and won again this fall running 15:33 for the Union/Cove team on the state meet course. Stevens placed second at the prestigious Nike BorderClash meet as a senior this fall, a collection of the fastest runners in the states of Oregon and Washington. Stevens has a personal best of 15:08 for 5k cross country.
Stevens has also been highly successful on the track as well. He won the 1500m and the 3000m at the Oregon State Championships as a sophomore and junior. He also qualified for the state meet in the 400m as a junior as well. Stevens has personal bests of 1:56.56 in the 800m, 4:00.40 in the 1500m, and 8:48.22 in the 3000m.
