LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Idaho swimming and diving picked up six individual victories and a relay win, but could not overcome New Mexico State's depth in a 180-118 loss Monday, in Las Cruces, N.M. Leah Fisk won twice and anchored Idaho's victorious 400-yard freestyle relay.

Fisk won the 100- and 200-yard freestyles. It is her third straight dual-meet win in the 200 freestyle. After Fisk cruised to victory in the 100, New Mexico State claimed the last five individual swimming events and secure the team win.

Sarah Hall led after the first two laps and never relented in winning the 1,000-yard freestyle. Hall finished in 10:45.36, nearly four seconds ahead of teammate Brianna Lucien in second place. It was the only time Idaho took the top two spots in an event until the final relay of the day.

Freshman Katie Hale was also victorious, taking first in the 100-yard backstroke. Hale clocked a 58.67, including a 29.80 split on the final 50 yards to come from behind and win.

The teams will meet again at the Western Athletic Conference Championships, Feb. 27-March 2, in Houston. The Aggies have finished second by a narrow margin ahead of third-place Idaho at each of the last two conference meets.
