POCATELLO, Idaho – Another Vandal comeback effort was stifled by a late penalty on Sunday in Idaho's (3-10-2, 0-3-2 BSC) 2-1 overtime loss at Idaho State (2-12-2, 1-4-1 BSC) in the ICCU Battle of the Domes.
Idaho State earned a penalty in the 104
th minute after a handball in the box. Karlin Wurlitzer buried the shot to give Idaho State its first win over Idaho since the Vandals joined the Big Sky in 2014.
The Bengals got their first early on. Makena Bambei scored from close range in the third minute to take the 1-0 advantage.
The Vandals leveled the score in the 50
th minute.

Maddie Haas at the top of the box and she found the back of the net to level the score.
Julia Byerlein had another big day in goal, making eight saves.
Idaho returns home to take on Northern Arizona on Friday at 7 p.m. The Vandals close out the home schedule on Sunday at 12 p.m. against Southern Utah with Senior Day.
