MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho volleyball (9-10, 5-2) got back in the win column by taking down defending Big Sky Tournament Champions, Northern Arizona (10-9, 3-4) in four sets on Thursday night.
Kyra Palmbush had a tremendous evening and finished the night with 17 kills. She committed just two errors on 31 attempts and hit .484 for the night.
Hailey Pelton recorded 42 assists and
Delaney Hopen paced the Vandals with 29 digs.
NAU got out to an early lead in the first set and maintained throughout. The Vandals made a run late, but the Lumberjacks ultimately got the win, 25-22.
Idaho was the aggressor in the second. Palmbush stepped up with six kills on nine attempts in the set, as Idaho cruised to the 25-18 win.
NAU jumped out to a quick lead in the third set before Idaho fought its way back to take over at 13-12. Neither team was able to hold serve for very long over the next string of points, but it was Idaho who took over late to take the set, 25-21, and go up 2-1 on the match.
Idaho controlled the fourth set from the start, jumping out to an 11-2 lead early on, and cruised to the 25-14 win.
Next up, Idaho hosts Southern Utah at 5 p.m. in Memorial Gym tomorrow, Oct. 18.
