Hale, Katie Starting Blocks 2019 WAC Championships

Idaho Falls at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. – Idaho swimming made the quick trip out to Pullman to take on Washington State in a dual meet on Friday night.  The Vandals fell to the Cougars, 173-89, but did pick up three wins on the day.
 
Katie Hale won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.56.  She also got a win as part of a relay squad.  Hale, joined by Aimee Iwamoto, Rylie Jones and Natalie Crocker, won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:46.16.
 
Alexis Schmidt also got an individual win.  She took first in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:07.16.  Schmidt was Idaho's top scorer on the night, after also taking third in the 100-yard butterfly at 58.59 seconds.  Teammate Jones took second in 57.67 seconds.
 
Idaho will take the next week of from competition before facing Northern Colorado in Moscow on Friday, Nov. 1.
