OGDEN, Utah – Idaho volleyball (10-11, 6-3 BSC) ran into a tough Weber State (14-6, 5-4 BSC) squad on Thursday night, falling in five sets on the road.
Idaho was led by
Kennedy Warren's 19 kills.
Nikki Ball also finished in double-figures with 10 kills.
Delaney Hopen led Idaho with 20 digs, while fellow senior
Paige Rupiper added 17.
Weber State got up early in the first before Idaho was able to take over at 15-13. The Wildcats took over from there with a four-point-swing to flip the lead in their favor and would not relinquish, on the way to the 25-20 win.
Set two was much of the same until late. Weber State would be the first to 20, and held a 21-17 advantage late, but Idaho bounced back quickly. The Vandals closed on an 8-1 run to take the set, 25-22, and tie the match at one apiece.
The third set went back-and-forth, with the Wildcats eventually getting up 21-18. It was Idaho who then took over, battling back quickly to tie it up at 23. The Vandals would go on to win the third, 29-27.
It was all Weber State in the fourth, as the Wildcats cruised to the 25-12 win. The Wildcats also got up early in the fifth, and maintained for the 15-11 win.
The Vandals return home to take on Idaho State in the ICCU Battle of the Domes on Saturday at 6 p.m.
