COLFAX, Wash. – Idaho cross country is set for the national level and will head out to Colfax tomorrow for the 2019 NCAA West Regional. The women's 6k race will begin at 11:30 a.m., while the men's 10k race will start at 12:30 p.m.

"We're excited for the regional meet tomorrow," said director of track and field/cross country,
Tim Cawley. "It's nice that it's practically a home meet, with our fan base and kids getting to sleep in their own beds. That's always a nice plus.
"We just want to build on the momentum from conference since we had a fantastic conference meet. Just to build on that momentum and run together as a team. Both the men and the women are in a good place and we're really excited to see what they can do tomorrow."
RANKINGS: Both squads enter the meet ranked 15
th in the West Region. The women have finished in the top-15 in each of the last three seasons, including 14
th for two straight years. The men took 17
th last year, after finishing in 12th in 2017.
LAST TIME OUT: The women took second overall at the Big Sky Championships two weeks ago. The squad used a balanced performance to edge out Southern Utah by just three points. Freshman
Kelsey Swenson has been a leader for much of the season, and paced the Vandals in Greeley to finish in 13
th.
The men earned sixth overall at the Big Sky Championships.
Dwain Stucker led Idaho in 22
nd, and has been the consistent top-finisher for the Vandals this season.
SEEN IT ALL BEFORE: Idaho competed at the Colfax Golf Club earlier this season at the WSU Cougar Classic. Both sides took third overall.
