Vandals Start Home Stand on Thursday

MOSCOW, Idaho –
It's back to Memorial Gym for Idaho volleyball (12-12, 8-4 BSC) to open up a four-game home stretch, beginning with Montana (4-19, 3-9 BSC) on Nov. 7, at 6 p.m.  The Vandals will then take on the Bobcats of Montana State (10-11 6-6 BSC) at 1 p.m. on Nov. 9, before closing the home portion of the schedule against Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado next week.

BIG SKY: Idaho currently sits in third in the Big Sky standings, but has a game at hand on No. 2 Weber State.  Northern Colorado currently leads the league at 11-1 with just three weeks remaining.  The Vandals will get another shot at the Bears, on Friday, Nov. 15, at home, but will not face the Wildcats again in the regular season.
 
FIRST MEETING: Idaho fell at Montana State in four sets early on in conference play.  The Vandals then traveled to Missoula and defeated the Grizzlies in four sets.
 
BIG SKY TOURNAMENT: Idaho is closing in on clinching a spot in the 2019 Big Sky Volleyball Championship in Sacramento.  The Vandals will clinch a berth with a pair of wins this weekend.  Idaho can also clinch a spot on Thursday night, with a win and a Montana State win at Eastern Washington.
 
HOME SWEET HOME: Idaho has been tremendous in Moscow this season, going 6-2 at home.  The Vandals opened the season with a win at home before dropping the final two games of their opening tournament.  The Vandals have since gone 5-0 in Memorial Gym in Big Sky play.  Things were similar last season, with Idaho going 2-1 during the opening weekend of play before rolling through nine straight Big Sky wins at home.
 
DEFENDING CHAMPS: Idaho tied for the conference lead last season, earning its first Big Sky Championship since rejoining the league.  The Vandals finished the regular season at 15-3 and took the No. 2 seed into the Big Sky Tournament.
 
NEXT: Idaho will remain in Moscow for its final regular season home week.  The Vandals take on Eastern Washington at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, then face Northern Colorado at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.
